On Course for Excellence: Kath's Leadership through
The Lena Cup Golf Tournament

Architect and internationally award-winning designer Jaycee Kath Sapungay embraced the challenge of organizing the Lena Cup Golf Tournament, JCI Manileña's largest project, with just two months to prepare. Despite the tight timeline, she achieved remarkable success, generating PHP 3,235,460.00 in gross income and a net profit of 2.6M—seven times the targeted amount for the Brgy. Bubunot chapel renovation. This fundraising event contributed nearly 50% of the chapter's total funds for the year and activated 50% of JCI Manileña's members, while reaching a network of 100,000 people via social media.

The tournament also supported key UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It addressed SDG 1: No Poverty by raising significant funds for the chapel renovation, easing local economic pressures. SDG 5: Gender Equality was highlighted by opening the tournament to all genders, while SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth was achieved through the revenue and activity generated by the event. Finally, SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals was exemplified by collaboration with the World Amateur Golf Championship (WAGC), expanding the event's global reach and impact.

OVERLOVED: Celebrating Love in All Colors

How did love shine in all its hues at the vibrant Pride event the JCI Manileña way? From the rainbow flags fluttering in harmony to the electrifying parade through Cementina Street to Cuneta Astrodome, the celebration oozed unity and acceptance. Dazzling performances, a sustainable fashion spectacle called Awrahan, and an engaging variety show kept attendees enthralled all day. The highlight? The Golden Gays and other participants basking in the spotlight, showcasing their talents and contributions. This collaboration with the Pasay LGU last June 28, 2024 was a beacon of partnership, advocating for equality and celebrating the beautiful tapestry of diversity. Relive the joy, excitement, and inclusivity of this unforgettable event that celebrates love in all colors, fostering a society where everyone feels valued and embraced.
